It always seems empty
Been listening to alot of those orchestral songs lately. Don't know why. Those symphony orchestras don't have saxophones, why should I care right? Nah, it's nice. Seems high-end for some reason. At one end of the spectrum, people I know are listening to 'Flight of the Falcon', 'Concerto D'amore', 'Ross Roy' or something like that. At the other end, some people I know listening to symphonies or classical music from Haydn, Brahms, Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak etc.
I don't think the current MSSMB members (the passionate ones that keep track of band music and NOT SSW people) don't know who Haydn is. I didn't know, but I got introduced to this whole genre of band/classical/symphonic/orchestral whatever music.
I'm trying to get more symphonies, especially the current ones. I think Ferrer Ferran has a 3rd symphony, and I'm waiting for Mr Appermont to write a 2nd (I think).
I hope they won't suffer the 9th Symphony Curse. Where composers die and can't exceed writing 9 symphonies. Started from Mahler (Mozart earlier than Mahler), I think. Any composers dare to try?
And I asked Tianze if I could borrow the CC's baritone saxophone back for MSSMB practice and for AMK exchange. The current condition of the school's Selmer USA Baritone Saxophone is practically not good. Low notes are very hard to reach, the thingy that opens up when you press the octave key doesn't work well. And it's very rusty and smelly. A marvel idea that I thought up during the trip back home, in Gerald's car (Oh yeah, thanks Mr & Mrs Lim!) while listening to the orchestral version of Smooth Criminal. I hope they will allow it.
Bubble tea in a water bottle, lol.
