Same old, same old
I feel like the holidays have nothing in store for me. I conform to the everyday schedule I give myself. I try to make everyday a productive one, but just to lay on my bed every night thinking, "What didn't I do?"
Everyday it's E.T.C.S. (Eat, TV, Computer, Sleep) nothing else. Now there's band and all, that's the only climax during the holidays.
Getting bored with the holidays. I seriously rather have 9 months of school than 9 months of holidays, period. Maybe some people have nice friends who have nice plans to have nice outings that need alot of nice money. But nooo, for Alif, it's freaking boring.
Anyway, had sectionals just now. Don't know if you can call sectionals when the whole section isn't there. Most number of people that turned up for saxophone sectionals ever was 3. So just now was me and Elaine, with the clarinet section. And I don't know how this happened, but I think my sight-reading skill has improved. And I also don't know how this could be true, but I attempted to play that triplets part from 2nd and 3rd movement and it turned out okay. Needs more work, but yeah, was quite surprised.
I think I want to change to a new instrument after my time in MSSMB. I don't know, I feel like changing. Maybe not a primary instrument, just learning a whole new other instrument. So since some guy was forced back and will "quit" again (but I foresee him getting forced back) I will bring home the Schreiber bassoon and practise on it. But I must get a bassoon reed, maybe from Matthew Pang or maybe some kind bassoonist with lots of reeds will give me one (not used one please) Maybe in the future I can double up on the bassoon or something.
Next? Maybe the trombone. I don't know, but saxophone is the coolest instrument ever. Be it sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor, baritone or bass.
Been listening to alot of band/classical/symphonic music, as opposed to the indie or rock I listen to. Like Csardas, Bolero or something like that. I also got a London Symphony Orchestra recording of Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal. Very good, sounds like the War, What is it Good for? 'arrangment' in the Agent Cody Banks movie.
And err ..
I'm not a trombonist but, what the hell is Shaun doing humping his trombone?!
I've heard of Eat, Breathe, Sleep music .. but I don't think Hump your instrument was ever being said.
Someone give me Sibelius, pretty please.
