the kooky clone

Currently Playing : Dear Sergio - BANDITS OF THE ACOUSTIC REVOLUTION

another week is coming to an end, as all things good must have an end.
this means 7 days less to the EOYs. and so far i've only studied a chapter of science and history, and gone though the new math notes (rather brief but it'll clear my guilt)

had SSW practice yesterday. overslept (aaron ng was right lol) and rushed to the bus stop.
board 74 when it came with the twins. it was 8.40am (i think) by then. stopped in front of AMK station and took the MRT service to Yishun. met up with aaron tan and joshua who were already inside the cabin. then dropped off at Yishun station and took 169 to sembawang cc.

guess what? we weren't late. hurrah for tentative hours. waited outside the cafe 'til xinhong came by and took the key. warmed up myself and i seriously shouldn't have played the school's Denis Wick 5N the whole week, my embouchure was messed up.

mr andrew ng gave a rather brief introduction to some theory. pretty educational heh.
circle of fourths, the enharmonic equivalents, the 3 different type of minor scales (harmonic, melodic & natural), the order of the major scales (the tones and semitones) and some other stuff.
was trying to learn something but it's pretty dull.

first song was Fantasy Variations on a Theme of Niccolo Paggini by James Barnes followed by El Bosque Magico (Magic Forest) by Ferrer Ferran. then it was break time and after that we sight read Vaughan William's English Folk Song Suite then Egmont by Bert Appermont.

yep, i could only play Le Bosque Magico and Folk Song Suite. Fantasy Variations knocked me out and Egmont basically killed me.

EGMONT, guitar cues so confusing. kept-replaying that cue part over and over. need sectionals!
oh yah, Aaron Ng so pro. played guitar solo on eupho. the prowess of aaron ng.

collected the 2 booklets of tickets for Symphonie II. (details to be posted)

after practice, stayed back because of the downpour. waited for quite a while. then they shuffled songs from Xinhong's iPod shuffle then they were so hyped when it played Dvorak's Carneval Overture. Tianze played my saxophone for that song. the song's damn crazy sia, 7 sharps for Eb instruments. then it played Egmont and i grabbed all the courage and played it again. yep, it killed me again.

then decided to practise briefly on my solo. could play it fairly but needs work. the high Es were a problem, need work.

then went for dinner at Northpoint's foodcourt. then aaron tan kept laughing when haiping kept saying uncle tidbit.

then we went home :)

time to mug.
