[delayed] Day Camp + Desford Colliery Brass Band Concert + Dinner with bandmates

Today was good. Started off with english class with only 80% of the class present? Kinda boring la, 1.5 hours of boredom. Learning about compo writing and stuff la, didn't really pay attention.

Then headed off to Whitley for day camp day número dos, when we reached there it was already lunch. Food was okay, x100 better than the packet of cold chicken rice that we always get. Then got my stuff from their bandroom, went to fall in, paid my money then combined. Played Star Wars, which I got confused at some parts. Bad day I guess. Then by 4, we packed our stuff and I went to fall in the band near the car park. Waited for instructions before boarding the bus to NYJC.

We reached there kinda early. Saw Clement there, he was moving around alot haha like he was busy (but not saying he wasn't) Then by 5 we were in. MSSMB occupied the first 2 rows. The band was simply superb.

Their intonation was superb. No need to say about individual tone, that's pretty obvious. Volume ... wow for a band that's that small, they were very very very loud. Not blasting hor, it's sound projection :) Anyway, the band made it a point to make the audience part of the concert, rather the strict and serious concerts that are held in Singapore. Songs, hmmm .. can't really remember the titles of it ... let's see.. I forgot the first one, the second one's called Jubilee Overture by Philip Sparke then I can't remember the rest. There was 'Comedy Night' and some Leonard Bernstein song that sounded like Slava which had Simpsons tunes in it (or maybe The Simpsons took the song, I dunno) Comedy Night .. the Euphoniumist injected Csardas into it? Haha.

Haha Jeremy was really like some of the player's favourite. His witty jokes, and the band didn't seem to mind him. After the concert he (the Soprano Cornet guy) was talking one big group of us MSSMB people.

Then after the brilliant concert was "over", obviously encore HAD to be shouted out. Toccata in Fugue in D minor - jazz style (LOLOL JAMES LOLOL JAMES JAMES) Starting was perfect, like keyboard tone. Then it gets jazzy, cornets injected Flight of the Bumblebee tune somewhere in there?

After the concert ended, we talked to that soprano cornet as mentioned. Then from NYJC, Mr. Sukit told us we could leave by 2 ways - one to Ave 2 and one to Ave 3. Ivan wanted to go out through the Ave 2 way, well, since he lived around Ave 2 but they all just went out through Ave 3 way, with all it's condominiums scattered around. And so we walked ...

Did anyone of you noticed the new band tees? Ok, you can only see the back which is the ugly side. Ok in case if they are some people who can't really see the "abstract" brain-child result of our Media head Gary, here's Kamal, kindly trying to shun away from my camera, to show us the back of our new tees.

Sad I don't have a picture of the front, which is the better side. But I guess it will somehow grow on us, so to speak. OK, so we walked and stopped at this bus stop in some very alien place to most of us. We were damn happy to find a bus heading to Hougang (to makan), which is 159; which stops at avenue 9. So did alot of stupid stuff such ..

1.) Run away from the camera (ala Joshua Melvyn Pereira) (By the way, you can see the nice design on the front on Jia Wei [extreme left])

2.) Taking candid pictures *cough*

3.) Act Sadako and run away from the camera

4.) Play ' Make the twins shun away from the camera and look at different directions or cover their faces with two hands which will make them look stupid so it's a win win situation duh ' Best game everr.

105 came first so Jia Wei, Ivan and JemZJeremy left us, so sad. Then did some other stuff and as always el alif is always el equippo with el camera.

159 came and guess what? It was headed at the wrong direction! HONG ZHENG! It was like headed towards Bishan? NOT going anyway near Hougang. Then we were like paranoid if we were gonna end up in Tuas or something. Anyway, the bus made a turn towards Ang Mo Kio and I had a magnificent idea of us dining at AMK Hub, that is IF we were headed there. But Hong Zheng's brilliant street directory skillz said we were so every stop we will 'One more stop!' and do the math .. we were like one stop away la.

Walked around AMK Hub for awhile then we ate at the food court at the top level. The food's freaking EX la please. I had only 4 bucks with me. One bowl of mediocre mee rebus already had me forking out $3.20 please. So let me see, Zhen Hui, Clarence, Ken An & Ong, me, twins, Beaver, Kamal and Joshua were there if I'm not wrong. Then I bought desert, at least the ice kachang was at a more reasonable price. When I was getting down to my last few scoops they all rushed me sia, uber brainfreeze please.

Then Clarence had stomach ache I think. Joshua had a long time understand what me & Melvin was telling. From cakes, sound effects plus graphic explanation of what Clarence was gonna do in the bathroom. Anyway, done with the toilet revelry.

Walked to the bus stop, 88 came first so the stomach ache-stricken Clarence and few others went leaving me, beaver and Hong Zheng. HZ asked me hand in some form for him. So 74 came, we all boarded. Had a nice chat in the bus until HZ went off. So leaving me with the biggest numskull ever to walk the planet. 'twas okay I guess, of course he spread his lameness as usual. Then he went off leaving me all alone :(

Okay that's it.

This post was started after I got back, but I got sleepy so I continued this morning [2/6] and drafted it, went for band and finished up at 11.45pm ... k?

Anyway on a side note ..... MY CRIMINAL MIND SEASON 1 DONE LIAO!. Watched 3 episodes already ...all watch before but who cares! It still kicks ass. But have to get to use to the Swedish subtitles. But hey, I've learnt 'thank you' is 'tack' in Swedish :D
